Embedded processors are so capable these days, that they often fill the role previously reserved for traditional servers and desktop systems. Thanks in part to the tremendous advances in microprocessor design and software tools, developing embedded applications gets simpler all the time. And in particular, with the availability of Java SE compatible Virtual Machines for the most popular configurations, development has never been more straightforward. This talk will focus on the ease with which Java applications can be developed, debugged and deployed on these platforms. As a major component of the presentation, a demonstration on one of the recent devices that has gained a popular following will be provided.

Speaker Jim Connors, a 25 year veteran of the computer industry, has spent the last dozen years helping customers leverage Java technologies ranging from Java Card to JavaEE.
