THE WAY OF THE LEOPARD: Connecting With Your Wild Side - With John LOCKLEY

"John is one of the first white men, in recent history, to become a fully initiated sangoma in the Xhosa lineage of South Africa. In addition to that he studied and practised Yoga & Zen Buddhism for over 20 years.

After spending 10 years in apprenticeship with the Xhosa tribe that gave us Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. They both popularised the philosophy of 'Ubuntu' (humanity).

This forms a cornerstone of John's teachings , John has created a unique and powerful path for transformation that he calls "The Way Of The Leopard".

THE WAY OF THE LEOPARD: A POWERFUL JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION

Can you imagine any member of the animal kingdom being unsure about their path? Or doubtful about what is proper for them to eat?

Can you imagine a bird, a horse, a feline being disconnected from their nature - and even trying to deny their core essence pretending to belong to a different species and thus living like them? Such as bird living like a lion, or a bear trying to live "successfully" like a fish because of self-doubt?

So while it may be true that because of his amazing qualities, humankind is a more evolved species, the animal kingdom has a level of connection with their core nature and ability to live in harmony with creation which we humans, especially nowadays, seem to have lost.

The way of the Leopard is a way to reconnect with the "wild" side of who we are. So that the certainty, clarity, purpose, and the instinctive sense of direction which are part of the "animal" side of who we are, get restored within us.

JOHN'S VISION & MISSION BEHIND THE WAY OF THE LEOPARD

My vision behind the Way of the Leopard is to take people on an ancient journey to rediscover their destiny, their heart’s call, their soul’s purpose in this life. I liken this journey to a deep sea voyage fraught with challenges, joy and divine intervention.

I see myself as the captain or navigator on this journey: my job will be to guide and encourage participants. Each journey begins with an intention. The more devoted the seeker, the clearer the message will become.

It is my dream that by sharing these ancient ways, we will sow the seeds for establishing communities of people around the world, who together can hold ceremonial space and ground the ancestral energy into everyday life.

ABOUT JOHN LOCKLEY (Wikipedia)

John Lockley was born in Cape Town in 1971 during apartheid to an Irish mother and a Zimbabwean father with British ancestry.

He completed an honours degree in clinical psychology at Rhodes University in 1997.

In 1997 in post-apartheid South Africa he met Xhosa sangoma Mum Gwevu in the Joza township in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. Mum Gwevu says she had foreseen his arrival in a dream.

He was trained as a sangoma in the Eastern Cape townships, serving a 10-year apprenticeship with Mum Ngwevu which he completed in 2007. Mum Ngwevu gave him the Xhosa name Ucingolwendaba, which means "messenger".
