(English text below) Viele neue Entwicklungen und Ideen nehmen in der Bay Area oder in Silicon Valley ihren Ursprung, so auch die Idee der Consciousness Hacking Meetups. Mikey Siegel gründete das erste Meetup dieser Art in San Francisco. Mittlerweile gibt es Consciousness Hacking Meetups bereitsin zahlreichen Städten der Welt. Ab nun steht Wien dem nicht nach. 

Ziel alter spiritueller Lehren war und ist es den menschlichen Geist in eine positive Richtung zu entwickeln und letztlich einen Zustand der Erleuchtung oder Erlösung zu erlangen. Probate Mittel dafür waren und sind nach wie vor Formen der Meditation, Gebet, Yoga, Kampfkunst, etc.
Mikey Siegel fand es an der Zeit, dass nunmehr auch die moderne Technik ihren Beitrag leisten kann, dieses Bestreben voranzubringen und zu unterstützen. 

Das Consciousness Hacking Meetup soll Anregung geben und Plattform bieten, die modernen technologischen bzw. technischen Möglichkeiten für die positive Selbstentwicklung von uns Menschen nutzbar zu machen und neue Methoden zu entwickeln. In Anlehnung an die Ursprungsidee soll das Wiener Consciousness Hacking Meetup Raum geben und Plattform bieten die Möglichkeiten der modernen Technik für die Erreichung der alten spirituellen Ziele, wie Selbstentwicklung, Selbstverwirklichung oder gar so etwas wie Erleuchtung, nutzbar zu machen und/oder, um es anders auszudrücken, unsere Art zu denken, fühlen und leben durch Zuhilfenahme oder Entwicklung von technischen Hilfsmitteln positiv zu verändern. Als Beispiele im weiteren Sinne können bereits bestehende Entwicklungen dienen, wie z.B. Meditation Apps, EEGs für den Privatgebrauch, Biofeedback- und Bodytracking-Geräte, usw. 

Ablauf und Gestaltung der Meetups wird in der Einladung von Key Note Speakern und in Treffen mit Workshop Charakter sein. Die aktive Teilnahme und Einbringung der Teilnehmer ist absolut willkommen!

Ziel ist es einen Status Quo zu erheben, sich laufend über den Stand der Forschung und Entwicklung auszutauschen, sowie idealer Weise auch hier in Wien die eine oder andere Entwicklung auf diesem Gebiet hervorzubringen, welche in ein „Start-up“ mündet. Inwieweit im Zuge dessen Fragen, wie „ Was ist Bewusstsein?“, „Wo und wie entsteht es?“, etc. zu klären sind, wird die laufende Arbeit zeigen.

Es geht um positive Unterstützung der individuellen und frei gewählten Selbstentwicklung. Abgelehnt wird jede Form der manipulativen, nicht gewollten Eingriffnahme in die menschliche Autonomie.

Many new inventions and ideas are initiated in the Bay Area or in Silicon Valley, so as well the concept of the Consciousness Hacking Meetups. Mikey Siegel was the founder of the first Meetup of this kind in San Francisco. In the meantime there are Consciousness Hacking Meetups in numerous cities of the world. From now on Vienna is among them. Aim of ancient and younger spiritual schools was and is the positive development of the mind with the ultimate goal of enlightenment or salvation. Appropriate measures were and are forms of meditation, prayer, yoga, martial arts, etc. Mikey Siegel found that it is time for modern technology to step in to assist this human goals. 

Consciousness Hacking Meetup therefore shall stimulate and offer a platform for research and development of modern technologies and technological possibilities for a positive self-development of all of us. Following this initial idea the Vienna Consciousness Hacking Meetup as well shall serve as a platform for research and development of modern technological tools for the achievement of this ancient spiritual aims, like self-development, self-actualization, or even states of enlightenment. To put it in other words, it’s time for science and tech to step in in order to change the way we think, feel, and live in a positive way. As examples could serve already existing developments like meditation apps, EEGs for consumer use, biofeedback- and bodytracking utilities, a.s.o.

Procedure and layout of the meetings will consist out of the invitation of Key Note Speakers and Meetups with work shop character. Active participation is highly appreciated.

Purpose will be to survey the status quo, to keep up with R&D in this field and ideally to develop the one or other invention here in Vienna. In how far during that process questions like “What is consciousness?”, “Where and how does it originate?”, etc. need to be clarified will show the ongoing work.
