Full Moon Silent Hike and Meditation at Marshal Mesa

We'll meet at the intersection of Marshall Road and 66th. I actually like parking there more than the main lot at Marshal Mesa because it's darker and more remote. The view of the rising moon to the east is terrific from this spot.

From Broadway (Highway 93) turn east ("away from the mountains" for you direction impaired folks) onto Eldorado Springs Drive (Highway 170). There is a new gas station at this intersection on the west side of Broadway. Turn right at the stop sign 1/8 mile from Broadway. There is a continuous lane that goes to the right. After 3 miles or so look for 66th on the right side of the road. The road only goes south, and is hard to spot. Look for electric poles heading up the hill as a landmarker. I'll leave my hazards on which you will be able to see from Eldorado Springs Drive. The link on the meetup post is perfect. It even has a street view with photos of the area. Please take the time to look at the map or take a virtual drive along the route from Broadway, and become familiar with it if the directions I have include don't make sense to you. You can bypass town and come in on Cherryvale from the north. Cherryvale dead ends at Eldorado Springs Drive. Turn left at the bottom of the hill, then go 2 miles or so to 66th.

We will hike in silence for 30 to 45 minutes and then meditate for 20 to 45 minutes depending on how long the group wants to sit. We'll hike back to the parking lot in silence and whoever wants to discuss their experience can stay and chit chat.

Bring water, and extra layers of clothes. It can get cold and windy in a hurry up on top of the mesa. If the sky is clear flashlights are not necessary, but nice to have if clouds roll in as the trail can be rocky. I will bring small rugs for anyone who wants one so please let me know ahead of time. Bring a cushion to sit on if sitting cross legged directly on the ground is painful for you. There is a bench and a few stumps to sit on.
