The Day 2 Problem: A Tour of Editorial Strategy

"Front of book." "The well." "Takeouts." What does a bunch of publishing poppycock mean to you?

Your website isn't a magazine. But it should be. Take a page from publishing history to appreciate the core message of content strategy: that we're all publishers online. What is the Day 2 problem? What are the tools of editorial strategy? How can it be effectively applied, measured and maintained--and who does it best?

Join a leading content strategist, Jeffrey MacIntyre (@jeffmacintyre) of Predicate, and a panel of representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HowStuffWorks, and UPS for a lively look at the role and value of editorial strategy in user experience design.

Great bunch of folks -- kindred. Glad to see there are others facing the same professional issues and driving in the same direction. Shout out to Colleen Jones for getting these smart people together.

How exciting to have this group! A great place to meet and learn with all the other content geeks out there. Great program on an important topic.

Excellent panel with lots of great insight. Nice to meet Jeffrey in person. Would have liked name tags with person's name, title and place of work for networking portion.
  • Bob Kennedy
Too little "networking" time prior to the meeting and the space where the food was served was too tight. Very interesting discussion, with a very sophisticated panel! I will certainly continue to attend events when possible.

The insightful set up and moderation by Jeffrey MacIntyre proved to be the key. I particularly appreciated the panel's range of perspective and application, which in turned spurred many thoughts and ideas to test and build upon. Many thanks to the organizers!

I thought it was a great introduction to editorial strategy for someone who is definitely new to the subject. I really enjoyed the panelists, particularly Tracy from How Stuff Works. It was nice to hear from a company where editorial strategy is well developed. I thought that Jeff gave a phenomenal and entertaining introduction to editorial strategy. I will definitely check out his articles online.
