May's meetup will jump into the fast-moving world of adaptive content (a very popular topic at our kickoff). Our format will be a round table discussion of Anne Rockley's upcoming online seminar "Designing Adpative Content for the Mobile World." This seminar is offered free of charge on Friday, 5/11/2012, at 11 am MDT. Register at the URL below:
You don't have to watch the seminar to attend this meetup, but it would be great if as many people as possible can view it. Ms. Rockley is a rock star in the field (pun totally intended) and I expect we'll get great value out of our own varied perspectives on her talk.
Create Once, Publish Everywhere: Adventures in Adaptive & Intelligent Content
There's a lot of talk in Content Strategy, UX, and IA circles about how to create and manage content that works across multiple devices (read: mobile is your future, whether you like it or not.). Karen McGrane calls this "Adaptive Content" and has been beating the drum around the US for some time now. There's also a whole lot going on with the more technical/analytical side of things - in particular XML-based Intelligent Content - that has significant implications for content strategy planning & workflow. Let's get together to talk about these trends, what (if anything) we're currently doing in these areas, what we've learned so far, and what opportunities might exist in our respective organizations to benefit from them.
