Continuous Deployment of Frontend JavaScript with StriderCD, Github & Sauce Labs

Continuous Deployment of Frontend JavaScript with StriderCD, Github & Sauce Labs

Details

Join us for our next meetup on August 14 with Niall O'Higgins and Peter Braden of Frozen Ridge (http://frozenridge.co/). They'll be talking about how to test your Javascript as part of a continuous deployment process with StriderCD (http://stridercd.com/), an open source CI platform.

We'll kick things off at 6:30 with pizza and beer followed by the talks around 7pm. Thanks to our friends at Tagged (http://www.tagged.com/) for hosting. We appreciate it!

Abstract:

The Continuous Deployment process offers clear efficiency benefits to software organizations. However, implementing CD for your own projects can be very time-consuming. Front-end JavaScript projects in particular can be difficult to get up and running with tests across multiple browsers on different OSes.

StriderCD (http://stridercd.com/) is an Open Source Continuous Deployment platform similar to Jenkins or Travis with an emphasis on extensibility, ease-of-setup and private deployment. It has plugins for most major JavaScript test frameworks (qunit, jasmine, etc) and cloud browser service providers such as Sauce Labs (http://saucelabs.com).

This talk will describe how you can use it to easily test your front-end JavaScript projects on each Github commit with Sauce Labs.
