Join us to talk about fostering spirituality without religion
Hosted by The Conversation Project
Details
Almost all of us experience a spiritual sense of transcendence at some point in our lives. However, most of the established institutions which actively foster "spiritual rituals" to bring about that state of transcendence are religious institutions. We will be watching a TED talk by author Alain de Botton, in which he, as an atheist, talks about the attractive features of religions apart from their dogmatic themes. We will use this talk as a means to think about how we, personally, define spiritual experiences apart from their religious contexts.
Come join us to engage in conversation using "conversational symmetries", a process that encourages everyone to participate in discussions. (ok to just listen and observe, too). Topics will change periodically, so check back at this site for a more specific description as topics are selected.
Each session is unique and varies according to the participants who attend. If you are new, you will fit right in.
Look forward to some lively conversations!
