Please read our RSVP and Guest Policy (https://www.meetup.com/Cook-Something-Extraordinary/pages/RSVP_and_Guest_Policy/) before you sign up for this event.

We had so much fun at last year's Summer BBQ and Pool/Spa Party (https://www.meetup.com/Cook-Something-Extraordinary/events/14481378/) that we have to do it again! It will be another chance for up to a dozen Let's Cook Something Extraordinary members to get together for some casual outdoor cooking, socializing, working on our tans, and splashing in the water. In contrast to our usual event format where the menu is set ahead of time around a theme, this time the theme will be “whatever best expresses your cooking style”. Each participant can bring their own ingredients and prepare a dish that best showcases their ingenuity in outdoor summer cooking. Here are some dish ideas to consider:

A Pure Expression of Beef Asian Style Grilled Chicken Seafood grilled in the Italian manner A whole fish to be grilled or roasted BBQ ribs with your secret recipe sauce A medley of grilled vegetables Heirloom tomatoes in three preparations A thoughtful arrangement of summertime fruit Salsa and/or guacamole using your secret recipe Grilled Pizza Acrobatics A light dessert A sumptuous dessert [Your favorite summer dish] Feel free to choose one of these or your own specialty. We’ll take turns preparing our items so there should be food continuously being prepared and served. I will have my large Big Green Egg (http://www.biggreenegg.com/) burning real wood lump charcoal set up and going all day for as long as everybody needs it. If this event is anything like last year's it should go well into the evening.

Like last year, whoever makes the most extraordinary dish, by popular vote, will win free admission to the next LCSE event of their choice. Due to the controversy surrounding my winning of last year's contest :-), this year I will recuse myself from the competition, make my simple, secret recipe Cajun-style BBQ shrimp, and concentrate on helping everyone else with their dishes, and serving drinks.

For refreshments we will have a selection of fresh, fruity wines as well as homemade lemonade and sparkling water. The RSVP amount will be used to cover the cost of these refreshments. Feel free to bring more beverages if you are so inclined.

The water temperature forecast for the pool is a balmy 88 deg. F, and for the spa is a sizzling 103 deg. F! So bring your swim suit, towel, sunscreen, dish to grill or make, and party attitude and help us make this an extraordinary outdoor event!

Finally, when RSVP, be sure to let us know what dish you'll be making. If you forget, just go back and post a comment. See you then!
