Announcing two new Meetups for Copenhagen Theatre Circle (CTC) Meet-Up Group!
What: Improv workshops
When: Tuesday, February 9,[masked]:00 PM
and Thursday, February 25,[masked]:00 PM
N?rre All? 7
2200 K?benhavn N
Given the success of the past few improvisation workshops, we have decided to keep this ball rolling, and to hold them on a more regular basis, starting with two workshops during the month of February. Anyone is welcome to join in for free - however, non-members will strongly be lobbied to pay the 200 kr CTC membership fee if they attend more than two workshops ;)
The workshops have a dual purpose: on the one hand, they should function as a way for current and prospective actors of staged theatre productions to expand their acting ?vocabulary? and to combat stage fright: a staged production where an actor has forgotten his or her lines becomes so much more interesting if he or she starts ad-libbing as opposed to shouting ?line?!
On the other hand, the aim with regular improvisation workshops is to make them an activity in their own right. Our hope is that we can form a regular hard core of attendees, which over time will enable us to start devising our own sketches and hone our skills to the extent that we could even hold the odd theatre sports night with an audience present.
And, what's more: improvisation workshops do not have to be confined to a ?classroom? space. After a number of initial workshops, we would like to take them outside, and to let the group start improvising in other spaces, be they private (people's apartments, gardens etc.) or public (open spaces, streets, parks, metro stations, buses), and to start recording the improvisations on video.
Who knows, maybe one day 15 members of the CTC will be lining the Croisette in Cannes as we introduce our collaborative film project...
