Meetup details:
Jonathan Boulle: Designing an open standard for running applications in containers.
2015 has been declared by some to be the "year of the production-ready container." The open container specifications are an attempt to write-down an interoperable set of specifications for use by different application container runtimes; on Linux this includes Docker, kurma, and rkt.
Speaker Bio: Jonathan Boulle is working on all things containers at CoreOS, driving the App Container specification and development of rkt, the application container runtime. Previously he was one of the lead engineers on fleet, contributed heavily to etcd, and, in a past life, worked on Twitter's cluster management platform based on Aurora and Mesos. He's passionate about Linux, golang, F/OSS, the Oxford comma, and scale.
