Bringing Stories to Life - eBook Development with Corona SDK

Calling all illustrators, designers, developers and those interested in eBooks and book apps! Join us on Monday, August 20 at Citizen Space in SF to learn about unique platforms for creating interactive books, to mingle with fellow creatives, and enjoy food and drink.

Alex Souza, the creator of Kwik, will be our main guest speaker. Kwik is a popular Photoshop plugin that allows designers and illustrators to bring stories to life without a single line of code. Alex will demo the newly-released Kwik 2.0 and show off impressive cross-platform eBooks such as: Fire Cupid (as seen inWSJ, TIME, The Washington Times and others), Frederick Spin (soared to #2 eBook in the Dutch App Store) and Sparky the Shark (a beloved, award-winning children's tale).

Ron Martinez, the owner of Aerbook Maker will speak on how his platform reduces the cost and complexity of creating graphical eBooks and native apps. Aerbook Maker allows anyone to create, share, and sell graphical eBooks and apps made in the browser without writing any code. Ron will demonstrate Aerbook Maker, talk about an upcoming Corona partnership and give a sneak peak of projects in the pipeline.

Many local eBook developers will also be attending the event to share their work with the community. We're looking forward to seeing you at the meetup! -Corona Labs

I'll likely be commuting from the Cupertino area for this, any recommendations on how early we should leave to get there on time? Also, what's the parking situation like around there?

You can park on the street after 7pm for free, and the parking lot across the street is only $10 usually unless a game is going on that day.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
