Geek Girls Night @ Brave New World Comics

Heya, just wanted to share this awesome event I'm heading up, thought you might want to join us!

Calling all lovely ladies! It's time to let your geek flag fly, as Brave New World, the female owned and operated, Eisner Award winning pop culture superstore that you adore, presents GEEK GIRLS NIGHT!

https://www.facebook.com/events/431403003658720/

Are you a Bat fan? Do you know exactly who is the right Who for you? Love everything Joss has ever had his hands on? Do your Spidey senses tingle every time Daryl's on screen?? Girl, we know just how you feel! (And this is *totally* the event for you!)

Featuring so many super fun things: Enjoy the random silliness of an all girl, all amazing comedy improv troupe! Check out our geeky craft workshop, with a super cool make and take project! Don't miss our Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Once More With Feeling" Sing Along! No event would be complete without a visit to our gallery, featuring art from fabulous female artists! Think you know what's what, ladies? Compete in our geeky trivia game, and win incredible prizes! Enjoy live music from the incredibly talented Sarah Wallin Huff. Oh, and you have just got to get a geeky manicure before the night is over!! In addition to all the fantastic events and fun stuff we have planned for you, Geek Girls Night will also mark the GRAND OPENING of our Geek Boutique...a tightly curated collection of uniquely geeky, handmade products that you are SO gonna love!!

Whatever you do, don't miss our panel discussion What's Your Passion: Letting Your Geek Flag Fly Current panel guest include: ~ Dr. Andrea Letamendi, Clinical Psychologist, scientist, and convention addict/speaker. Host of UnderTheMask.com, a collection of in-depth perspectives about heroes and villains and the people who love them. ~ Janelle Asselin, feminist/geek/tomboy, formerly a comic book editor at Disney Publications and DC Comics, and currently a project editor at Sideshow Collections and contributor at ComicsAlliance.com ~ Mairghread Scott, animation and comic book writer, "specializing in giant alien robots", she was the first female to solo write an issue of Transformers. ~ More guests to come!!

$5 at the door gets you $5 to spend in the store...and the lucky first 25 ladies inside will each get a goodie bag filled with awesome products and swag from our Geek Boutique creators, as well as major comic book publishers! (Sounds more like a GREAT-Y bag than a goodie bag!!)

Oh my gosh...DON'T MISS IT!!!

And hey, check out our nifty new promo video for the shop! http://vimeo.com/87816436

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
