Open Bioinformatics: The Proteome

Details

The Open Bioinformatics Workshop is an experiment in Citizen Science. Our goal is to create some simple synthetic biology parts for the Glowing Plant project (glowingplant.com), publish an article and place them in the public domain.

The project involves us talking about a new type of biological data every time we meet. Everyone is encouraged to bring a laptop and engage hands on work with the data

Training in biology and/or programming is recommended but everyone is welcome to come and check it out. You'll get the most out of it by taking some biological data and doing something with it that same night, so a laptop is recommended.

Hopefully at this time we'll be looking more closely at the proteome data.

We'll start with a 45 minute talk and then break into working groups for 2 hours or so.
