Liqueur making workshop - Capture the summer in a bottle!

Details

Liqueur making is easy, fun, and a delicious way to preserve those flavors of summer in a bottle.

We'll go over the basics (take fruit, add alcohol and sugar, wait!), discuss alcohol choices, and look at some more advanced liqueurs that are well worth the effort. And then we'll make some liqueur! At a minimum, we will be making a Limoncello, and either a cherry liqueur (based on a recipe from Patrik's grandmother) or Nocino (an Italian green walnut liqueur unlike anything you've ever tasted).

We'll have some samples of Patrik's previous batches available for tasting! Including blackberry liqueur, cherry, Nocino, Buddha's Hand limoncello, and a tayberry liqueur that's like liquid candy...

Attending the workshop is free, but participants are of course expected to chip in for the cost of fruit and alcohol if they want to take some home.

Bring a large wide-mouth storage jar with lid (like the 2 qt Ikea KORKEN (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70227986/)). Bring some juicy fruit if you can, especially berries, stonefruit, figs, or citrus; otherwise we will have a small amount of fruit available at the workshop. Do you have a lemon or other citrus tree? Bring as many as you want to get rid of (Meyer lemons are reputed to make great limoncello!) We will likely organize a trip to the liquor store around the corner to get alcohol, or bring your own favorite (a neutral vodka, brandy, or rum).

21 and over only, please!
