Synthetic Biology project: engineer an evolved bacterial sunscreen

Details
Come get your hands dirty with some of the most advanced genetic engineering concepts - synthetic biology, directed evolution, and more!
This project won a bronze medal at the Come join our weekly team meeting for the 2015 iGEM synthetic biology competition (http://igem.org/Main_Page)! No prior experience required. Last year, we won a Gold Medal and the prize for Best Community Labs Project with our Real Vegan Cheese (https://realvegancheese.org/) project. This year, we are building an E.coli that produces its own sunscreen, and then use directed evolution to improve on our original design.

This project is a collaboration between Counter Culture Labs (Oakland),BioCurious (Sunnyvale), and Berkeley Bio Labs (Berkeley). Open to all ages, high school and up.
