The Course is both intellectually completely lucid, and a brilliantly clear system of metaphysics, as well as a very down to earth and practical path of instructions for living, and truly learning the lessons that are there to be learnt in this life, if we but diligently practice what it says.
A Course In Miracles, appeared in the context of the Abrahamic religious tradition, and it has an interesting connection with the Thomas Gospel.
The Course's path of healing the separation, and finding the relationship with our Internal Teacher, lies in an experiential realization that duality is metaphor, and in shifting from the dream state to an awakening as we join with Jesus in learning the sameness of the journey in content: he went before us, and he leads us now.
The Course's forgiveness process show us how to release differences and experience that my brother and I are one. Through that process that we restore the Holy Relationship, in which we follow Jesus in his footsteps, joining with him in spirit on this journey home.
The Thomas Gospel teaches non-dualism, like ACIM.
The work of Ken Wapnick explains the Course on its own terms, without adding to it, and is one of the foundations for our workshops as well, as is the work of Gary Renard.
NOTE: Please join meetup with your first & last name, for we have too many members with the same names. Also please do not set your profile to "no email" if you want to RSVP for a workshop. If we cannot contact you, your reservation does not exist as far as we are concerned.
These workshops are open to all. The central notion is how Jesus teaches through cognitive dissonance, i.e. the cracks in the ego thought systems, which is fool proof but not God proof, are the learning opportunities we get to learn another thought system, that of the Holy Spirit, to which Jesus is our guide.
