About Closing the Circle/53rd St ACIM Group

The teaching of Jesus was and is radical, too radical for many, that was the reason for the emergence of Christianity, the Thomas gospel more than anything has exposed the difference between one and the other, so we study the Course with a good deal of critical sense about how and why Jesus of the Course distinguishes his teachings from those of Christianity:

To learn this course requires the willingness to question every value that you hold.
(ACIM:T-24.in.2:1)

As we study the text we will explore all of those examples where Jesus offers us deliberate challenge through words and concepts, in order to shake us up out of our unconscious thought-patterns and belief systems. We will study parallel Bible passages and/or Thomas sayings where appropriate. The overal focus will always be on being helpful in our individual paths experiencing the meaning of the Course, beyond the words, which in turn is triggered by shaking off the dust from our hidden beliefs and unconscious assumptions.

Since some time I've been writing about this subject area for some time in my blog which is listed here:

Since the appearance of Gary Renard's new book, Your Immortal Reality, I am now working on a book on Pursah's Gospel of Thomas. Interestingly I have come to see this book as a bridge to my further work on the Gospel according to Mark. The original postings on the Thomas Logia started on the DU group on yahoo.com, but I have since then set up a separate repository to keep them together, at:
