Business of Photography Discussion - How to Massively Market Yourself for 2014!

Details

A very special discussion on "The Business of Photography", this time we are going to be discussing how to market yourself/your photography business to grow your business in 2014!

(On a personal note, I (Ronald Lee) and exactly in the phase of massive brand building and promotion this fall/winter 2013)

All around North America, particularly in the Vancouver lower mainland, photographers are scratching their heads and asking, "how do I make money with photography?".

The business has changed quite a bit over the last few years, the bottom has fallen out, and there is a new generation of photographers looking to make money with their camera and trying to figure out the best way to do it.

Are weddings the most lucrative way today? What does Wikipedia say about commercial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photography#Commercial) and advertising?

A few of us have made some money with photography and we all know someone who has made a lot of money, please join us on Monday, September 9th for a discussion on how to become a professional with your camera.

We will have a series of discussions on the business of photography and these will not always have a guest speaker. This will be an open discussion to talk, complain, brainstorm, whatever, as we break down and explore how money can be made in photography and what we have to do to make a career (or semi-career) out of it.

In fact, I've been having ongoing discussions with several people about this and my conclusion is this is as good a time as any to make a living with your camera - but only if you are smart about it.

Please meet at the the Duncan building at 119 West Pender at 3pm SHARP so I can let you in. Then we'll have a discussion until 5pm, or whenever and see what comes from it.

*NOTE: We may then go for some food/dinner immediately after. I hope you can join us!

The cost is $15 per person (helps with the meetup group costs), please prepay when you register, and be aware there are no refunds for no-shows.
