Retouching with Adobe Photoshop

We're back!!

And a Happy New year to you.

We're going to organise the events with a little more notice than 2 weeks going forward but here's the first event (in 2 weeks!!!). And as always, the event is free.

Retouching portraits, fashion shots or just faces in general are some of Photoshop's most difficult and challenging areas. Here we take a look at some of the techniques used by professionals - masks, layer blending modes, filters and vector paths - to give you the end result you really want. For photographers, Photoshop users and anyone who has ever tried to get rid of those unwanted wrinkles in a face or just make someone look...better.

Actually, we're going to take a pic of Mark Young and turn his beard green. But don't tell him.

Please can you put another one of these on within the next 6 months? Would really like to come and know many others too, but unfortunately missed that last event! Thanks so much

A good session, some old stuff covered but also some new. The inclusion of the Fotoshop (I've spelt it that way for a reason) promo was a nice touch, especially after what was covered about ethics when it comes to retouching.

A really interesting course which was well presented. Making videos of the presentation available afterwards is an excellent idea - much appreciated.

I've been a practing designer for over 6 years and thought it would be good to touch up my skills and get out of bad habits, but left having learnt a lot more than that with some new tricks and techniques under my belt which i ll certainly be using a lot more now ! A really great class, good structured tutor, obviously knows photoshop inside out. Very good examples and all very helpful. Could have shown more of the techniques without using shortcuts though, so everyone knows where the specific tools are.

I found this very enlightening. Speaker went through everything in a clear measured way. It was a bit quick at times, but I imagine that's relative depending on both the experience of the person and also the format itself. If there is one thing I take away with me it's that cmd click on the thumbnail selects the contents!

Really enjoyed this meetup. Mark Gatter was fantastic, I really like his style of teaching and ethos. I really felt that he gets a lot out of teaching this stuff & those kind of people make the best teachers. Learnt quite a lot about using masks, keyboard shortcuts and rendering effects. Thanks so much guys.

' Just get there if you're alive. You will gain so much. The evening will help you to raise your technique to another level'
