Interested in connecting elements... like design, urban planning and architecture, alternative transportation, engineering, open space and diverse eco-sapian systems and local economy. Connect everything. We are here on earth to imporve it not destroy it. We can actually leave this planet in better condition than when we lived on it.

As the mycelium.

We will be looking at rain gardens, aquaponics, hydroponics, mushrooming, micro enterprises, bikes, alt energy, edible forests, edible gardens, vertical wind, staking functions, connecting resources to needs. Mostly connecting people and nature's needs to resources.

It's not just gardeing. It's people in balance with bio-regional nature and city. Quality of life.

What is missing in local town planning? What can we add or subtract or transform to make our every moment filled with sweet smells and delicousness. Bring all your needs and resources to the space. Feel free to improvise with artists, musicians corporate folks.

I am a visual designer, photographer, artist, improvisation dancer, who has just finished a certificate course in Permaculture Design. I am interested in perma-culure in the larger view.. communities functioning over time. Look at Lake Anne, Reston. It's empty - amazing and empty. Artists love empty spaces.. but this one is too expensive for us. It was a fabulous working model in the 70s.

Now it is clear that the developers didn't predict surrounding competition to be big box and strip plazas. Car life and traffic intersections take up a significant part of our day. What is it we will not see? Here we are building these perfect utopian places but what will occur in the future that we can not predict. Can we build designs that are resilient enough to withstand the unexpected...?? (I can't imagine big box getting bigger. The entire shopping mall i visited in NC in the 70's in now one store-- a COSCO.)

It's about matching needs to resources. Getting what we need locally --like our front stoop. It's about seeing waste as a resource. it's about everything people experience.
