Write for 60 minutes and share insights, excerpts (optional)

We are about the craft and art of Creative Writing.

No charge.   Open invitation to join at meetup.com/CreativeWritersBerkeley.

At 7:00 p.m., we'll begin with sharing our reader responses to an assigned craft example from Janet Burroway's book "Imaginative Writing,: fourth edition. Members must have access to the book.

At 8:00, we'll begin writing for 60 minutes on our works-in-progress, and toward closing time we'll share (optional) excerpts from our work-in-progress.

Organizer: A recent MFA in Creative Writing, I've published comic-ironic stories in literary magazines such as San Francisco's ZYZZYVA, Berkeley Fiction Review, Ishmael Reed's Konch. Current projects:  a novel "Seven Rivers"  and my blog <EditingCraft.com>. I started teaching myself creative writing by studying Janet Burroway's "Imaginative Writing," first edition, which led me to write a successful application story for a local MFA program. This study prepared me to make better-informed comments in the MFA workshops and later in consultations with professional editors. See  my book-review on amazon.com.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
