This group is for anyone interested in traditional country life and historical cultures, not just reenactors. We will meetup at living history events, historic villages, festivals, guest farms and have outdoor adventures.

Living History - Colonial, Regency & Victorian era

We want to organize new and experienced reenactors who strive for authenticity, it’s for entertainers, crafters and for people who want to be creative and have fun incorporating historical customs into real life adventures. We will create cultural experiences by organizing people into performing social and cultural roles for the purpose of developing activities into meaningful presentations and ways of living. We will travel to historic sites and participate in festivals and living history events. We will volunteer at historic villages, farms, forts, homes and at various reenactments. As a group, we can discuss with historic sites how we can enhance their presentations, we may get their permission to stay overnight at some sites to develop a more authentic historical re-creation. We will also develop a company of entertainers to play dramatic roles at historical sites; there we will present historic characters interacting with each other and the public in a dramatic storyline. We will also have musical entertainers and recruit people with other talents as well.

In addition, we will re-create similar conditions from the past and immerse ourselves in them. We will develop creative experiences that are like cinematic adventures where we organize treks, treasure hunts, formal and country dances and other activities. The real world should be more like the movies; it should be an adventure that’s like a theatrical production. Think about what life is like in certain movies, then imagineer that reality into existence in the real world. Creative cultural adventures organize people into live action roles that develop historical, ethnic and national cultures into meaningful life experiences that follow cooperative and competitive scenarios toward directed goals. We can take inspiration from history, movies, video games, books and mythology to use the real world as a live action stage onto which we craft a complete design of a way of life as it should be.

Maintaining local cultural heritage through traditional farming and customs

We are looking for people who want to get together to experience traditional farm life, such as living like the pioneers for a few days in a rustic cabin, to work the fields with draft animals, make our own soap, brooms, tools, put up preserves, but even more, step into a time period and wear the period clothes and practice the social customs, entertainments and crafts of the era. These are traditions to be lived as our heritage in the present, to get farmers to take valuable skills from the past and incorporate them into contemporary living, like working with animal power. A farm like that should be a centre for creating and preserving the local culture in a way that involves the community and encourages others to adopt meaningful traditional customs and organic farming methods.

We are based mainly in Kentucky & Tennessee, but we will take some trips to surrounding states and even to other parts of the country. Among the activities we will organize are re-creations of American colonial/Revolutionary War era, Regency period and Victorian era, we will have historical dinners and dances, a weekend of living as pioneers in a rustic cabin without any modern technology or working as volunteers on a farm or as cowboys on a dude ranch, go on historic treks like the pioneers and early explorers, learn about Native American culture and have many other adventures.

"Hello everyone. It's hard to describe yourself as you often I find summation a bit limiting. I'm married with five sons, I've been a professional gardener, a dj, worked in retail. I'm an Irish American living in a historical home in Indiana."
