Join us for a class presented by Meera Jain, founder of Institute of Conscious Living, followed by a meditation to get in touch with a particular archetype for healing: The Hero within us lives and it is time to awaken this part of ourselves, so we can maximize our true potential and live meaningful authentic lives. But, we need to
understand how this can be done!
This class offers some of the most profound knowledge in terms of being able to
understand ourselves, others, our relationships, areas of pain and suffering
and why we attract certain types of people and situations over and over again.
Traditionally, the Journey of the Hero is a metaphor of the Journey from Unconscious Perfection to Conscious Perfection (from being asleep under many veils of illusion to a fully awakened state of understanding who and what we really are).
In Western Mythology, the Journey of the Hero has a number of stages and each stage is depicted by a different archetype. Archetype can be defined as “A universal/original pattern of behavior that governs everything we do”. The famous psychologist, Carl Jung identified 12 main archetypes, all of whom are essential to the Journey of the Hero.
This Journey often begins with an Innocent. Then there is a tragedy or betrayal or the kingdom is in jeopardy. Resolution finally comes with the emergence of the Hero who slays the dragon and rescues the damsel or finds treasure to return the kingdom to well being and health. This familiar myth is retold in countless ways and appeals to the human psyche because there is something deep and meaningful in it.
The 12 main archetypes are not only profound to the Journey, but are also profoundly within us. We need to be able to utilize each archetype fully if we are to awaken to our true potential.
This class will help you identify the different archetypes within yourself and determine which part of the journey you are at, where you are stuck and how you can maximize your true potential.
Meera Jain (BS, DPS)
By combining the traditions of Psychology and Spirituality, Meera Jain has been sharing her knowledge and experience, conducting workshops, seminars, teaching programs and coaching individual clients for more than 15 years. Her work includes Meditation, Reiki, Archetypal Psychology, Inner Child Work, Breathwork and more. Her intuitive ability to zone in on ‘the problem’ and guide her clients through a recovery process in just a few sessions amazes those who experience it. Meera has a background in Psychology. After finishing her postgraduate studies in Oxford (UK), she worked as an Assistant Psychologist in the areas of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, but felt very discontent with the nature of conventional medicine. Her own spiritual upbringing and knowledge prompted her for many years to search tools that go beyond conventional therapy and can treat and heal the whole person (mind, body and spirit). In 2001, she was the co-author of an NIH grant to study the efficacy of Reiki as well as being responsible for teaching Reiki to a large group of people for the purpose of conducting research. In 2009, Meera founded the Institute of Conscious Living, an organization offering educational programs, seminars, and services designed to heal, transform and empower individuals and organizations. The institutes’ signature healing system was recently implemented on a volunteer basis to patients at Children’s Hospital (San Diego). Meanwhile, the ‘Mindful Kids Program’ which teaches children simple strategies to reduce stress and promote a balanced life was successfully introduced into a public elementary school.
