Bao Bei Chinese Brasserie $30 Tasting Menu

Thank you to everyone who RSVP'ed by July 21st! I have now re-opened the waiting list. If anyone absolutely needs to cancel, please do so only if there is someone on the waiting list to take your place.

The absolute last day for me to cancel with the restaurant would probably be July 25th in order not to be charged for no-shows.

From the website (http://www.bao-bei.ca/faq.html): For larger parties of 8 - 12 we provide a $30 tasting menu at the family table which is available for an early or later seating. Please inquire for availability. A credit card number is required to hold the table. Buyouts are available for private functions. Please email us for more info.

The tasting menu is drawn from their regular menu. They will try to cover about 80% of their regular menu, and include their most popular items, so if you've never been to Bao Bei, this is a great chance to try many things there.

That said, the contact person I spoke with could not definitely guarantee exactly what we'll get. If you have significant restrictions (e.g., are vegetarian), this will probably not work out.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

(1) I have to secure this reservation with my credit card. If you do not show up, I will be broke and homeless.

(2) (updated July 13th)

There are two seatings. Since there was more interest in the 6pm seating, I have adjusted this Meetup for the 6pm seating. HOWEVER, because we are on the earlier seating, the restaurant has stipulated that we need to be done by 8pm.

(3) Aside from the family seating tasting menu, the restaurant does NOT allow reservations.

If we do not have confirmed 8+ attendance for the tasting menu, I will send out an e-mail and change this into a drop-in Meetup for anyone who would still like to try Bao Bei.
