This is a group for those who love cumbia especially, as well as other forms of Latin music and dance (including salsa, merengue, and bachata). We will explore different Latin music and dance venues in Seattle and the surrounding areas. If you love to dance, want to learn, or just want to get out and have some fun, join us!
Please note: This group is primarily for fun, street/nightclub style Latin dancing, not for formal, ballroom-style Latin dancing. For an idea of what I am talking about, check out the YouTube video links under the "Pages" tab. While I occasionally schedule things like a salsa lesson at Century Ballroom, we primarily go to Latin nightclubs in and around Seattle. And not just the fancy ones! Most of the events that I schedule involve cumbia sonidera, which is a very urban, Mexican style of cumbia. But I do sometimes schedule other types of events, and members are always welcome and encouraged to schedule other types of events as well. However, if you are looking for a more formal or fancy environment, there are other salsa Meetups in the Seattle area that you might prefer.
Also, if you are not familiar with Latin music events, they can often be quite pricey, even if it's not live music, and even if it's not a fancy club. Event prices range from $0 to $50 or more. I try to post the prices when I can, but it's not always possible to find out in advance. I also try to schedule lower-priced events whenever possible.
Finally, if you RSVP for an event, please update your RSVP or contact the event host if you will not be able to attend. We have had problems in the past with many people RSVPing but not showing up. This can leave the group waiting for you, not knowing if you are coming or not. So please be considerate of other group members. The purpose of this group is to build a small community of people who like to go out dancing together. For that reason, I always schedule a specific meeting time and place for the group to meet up. If you plan to attend an event with the group, then please plan to meet us at that time and place, or contact the event host before the event to make alternative arrangements to meet up. If you do not intend to meet up with the group, then please don't RSVP for the event.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact the group organizer. And again, I highly encourage members to post events themselves too! See you on the dance floor!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
