A late summer evening jaunt on the glistening Thames, ideal for those new to kayaking or those looking to try something new in a kayak! With the weather forecast for Thursday being a stunning sunshine (http://www.bbc.com/weather/2643743) it will be a real pleasure to be on the river

We’ll be on the water for a couple of hours, with the trip planned around the tides, allowing you to glide down river to follow a discovery trail to find two lost rivers: Counters Creek, and river Wandle where Lord Nelson fished before winning the battle of Trafalgar. And that's not all, the paddle will also take you past Fulham Football Grounds, past the church where the horror film 'The Omen' was filmed and past by Fulham Palace which was once owned by Henry the 8th. The river will be at high tide offering excellent views.

And best of all there will be complementary pizza and beer waiting for you on arrival back in Chelsea.

We will be paddling in super stable 2 person kayak boats, so no experience is required, and our expert guides will help us master the basics of boat control during the journey.

If this date doesn't suit you, we have another event on 12th May, however it is almost sold out now - you have to be quick to grab your place.

We will be kayaking from a purpose-built kayaking centre in Chelsea, with excellent facilities and equipment. The kayaks we’ll be using are spacious and stable doubles.

All coaches are highly trained and qualified by the British Canoe Union, fully CRB checked, and have years of kayaking experience. They have a passion for the tidal Thames and brilliant local knowledge.

The centre boasts hot showers and changing rooms, with lockers for your valuables, just bring along a small padlock.

Meeting time: 7.00pm, Cremorne Gardens, Chelsea, SW10 OQH for 7:30 start.

Meeting Point:

Meet at Cremorne Gardens on the junction of Lots Road and Cremorne Road. Travelling by bus is a good option – the centre is a five minute walk from Battersea Bridge, or the Worlds End stop on the Kings Road.

Imperial Wharf overground station is around a 7 minute walk, and can be reached via Clapham Junction or Shepherd’s Bush mainline stations, or by changing from the London Underground system at West Brompton (District Line). Fulham Broadway and Sloane Square tube stations are both around a 15 – 20 minute walk away.

If you’re on your bike there are railings you can secure your bike to.

Contact:

Please note that in order to keep the costs low, the trips are set up in such a way that they can be fully managed online. The descriptions are very detailed and try to answer all your questions and you will find additional information in pages section of the website. Please only email us if your query is not answered in the event's description and please only call us in case of emergency. I'm afraid we will not be able to get back to you if your query is answered above as with over 60 events coming almost 4,000 members and current volume of emails, this would require hiring admin support and setting up a call centre, which as you can imagine would increase the costs of the events considerably. Please help us provide excellent trips at fantastic value for you and keep your emails to the minimum. Please make sure you read the event's description before contacting us.
