In the past few years, my personal love and appreciation for a top quality curry has grown a little out of control. Therefore, rather than attempt to tame this particular desire, I thought 2011 would represent a great opportunity to pull a together a group of people from Reading and the surrounding area and attempt to work our way through the local offerings.

On a serious note, aside from sharing our opinions on the culinary delights that await us, I am hoping this will be a good chance to meet new people and make new friends. This group is not aimed at any particular age group, race, religion, etc... everyone and anyone is welcome (providing you are prepared to share your joy of curry). To give you a bit of background on myself, I'm a 28 year-old male, living and working in Reading. I've been based here since 2006 after moving up from the South West.

My plan initially is to aim to organise a booking for the group every 4-6 weeks and go from there. My proposed starting restaurant is the Standard Tandoori on Caversham Road on the basis that it is well known, been around since 1980 and has a nice pub just up the road. Date and time above is provisional but I wanted to get something in the diary to hopefully encourage new joiners. This isn't intended to be 'my' group by the way, hopefully as more members join the group can be shaped to suit accordingly!
