Leadership and the Creative Arts

Details
Led by Dr. Edward Freeman, Professor of Business Administration at UVA's Darden School.
Leadership is an oft talked about concept. There are lots of models, but the most important idea is that a leader has to develop his or her own leadership story. In this highly experiential session we will use techniques from the creative arts to explore some central ideas about leadership including trust, listening, creativity, and presentation of self. We’ll use some acting exercises, storytelling games, and improvisation to get the feel for how the creative arts lets us build our own story about leadership. All of the exercises are interactive and fun, so come prepared to have a good time as you explore, craft and cultivate your own ideas about leadership with others. Leave the session with a good idea about where you need to work on your leadership, and how you can use the creative arts to become a more effective leader.
Registration: $10 at the door.
