Meetup outside McDonalds, Liverpool Street Station train departs 10:55 Platform 3.

Description:

Meet up at Liverpool Street Station we travel up by train to Turkey Street Station (approximately 25 minutes and £7 train fare).

(Not our video and not the exact route but we doff our cap to the creator)

At the picturesque Enfield Lock we join the River Lea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Lea) in under 1 minute, following the calm river and natural trail for approximately 13 miles to Lime house Basin.

After that you have the option of heading home or continuing around the Isle of Dogs, under the Greenwich Tunnel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwich_foot_tunnel few steps and bikes may have to be carried) popping us out by the famous and recently renovated Cutty Sark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutty_Sark ... a valuable piece of history or the Transit van of its day).

This is where I suggest we have Lunch. There are plenty of places to sit out in the sun and lots of places to grab food.

Once we have had lunch it will be a gentle ride back in to central London which entails a small bit of road (1 mile, Greenwich to Plough Way) and then in to the back streets of Canada Water, Bermondsey, London Bridge and ending up at Waterloo.

The route would be suitable for mountain bikes, hybrids, folding and road bikes.

We have scheduled the event for this time to maximise quieter trains and roads. In terms of how you get to the start and from the finish I would recommend using the London TFL website (www.tfl.gov.uk) checking engineering works that day too.

The route may vary a little due to challenges we hit on the day and each rider is responsible for their own health & safety.

The event will be cancelled giving a minimum of 48 hours notice if there is a risk of bad weather. By the same token, if you do not plan to attend please change your RSVP.
