The Gold Country Gran Fondo Needs More Volunteers
I'm hoping I can rustle up some support from our troops to help out with this great local cycling event. Volunteers are still needed very badly and I'd really like to show Folsom Bike some support from our club.
If you're not planning to participate in GC Gran Fondo, you can still be a big part of the action. Consider volunteering. The organizers still need volunteers for a variety of functions, especially SAG Drivers, Course Marshalls, and Medics.

Please consider helping out. It's a great way to pay it forward in cycling.

A Quick Reminder about Aero Bars and Tri Bikes
Our schedule for long, tough "Train for the Tour" rides is attracting new members from different disciplines, including Triathletes. We love this! However, some may not be aware we do not allow the use of aero bars or tri-bikes during our group rides. Lever-less aero bars can be mounted to a road bike, but please don't use them while in pace lines or drafting situations.
Most of our rides entail pace lines or rotating pace lines with a pretty quick pace. Safety is of the utmost importance. Aero bars do not allow riders to respond quickly enough if there is a sudden need to brake or maneuver, and they're also not conducive to rapid shifting needs in the hills (assuming your shift-levers are on the Aero bar tips). Tri Bikes generally don't offer the handling required for most of the routes we ride, so we really prefer to see you on a standard road bike.
We don't like to turn anyone away at a ride start, so please honor this policy.
That's it for now!
