  • I'd love to be able to cook together a complementary menu planned around Different techniques worth learning or what we love to cook Then eat the fruits of our labor For example, I have a theme for friends not necessarily cooks this valentines day : bring food that connotes love, passion or sex to you I'm making a menu out of the list Ours can be seasonal incorporatingtechniques we wanna learn and/ or flavor profiles we wanna explore

    If getting "one place" isn't possible how about multiple satellite locations. For example, have one theme (e.g., Valentine's Day - love, sex, passion: food and discussion). Then people open their homes to a small group. We can post pics, post on Twitter/FB/Pintrest, etc. Just a thought.

    Iron Chef viewings = good future meetups? :) If you mean the "Mad Man Cosmopolitan of Clementine Juice, Rum, and Ginger Juice paired with Crispy and Creamy Brussels Sprouts w/ Mustard and a reduction of Apple Cider and Vinegar" ... well who could turn that down? His Parsnip Cardamom Bisque also sounds worth a try, if you ask me!

    This can go in many different directions depending on the mix of people (beginner to pros), alloted time ( a few hrs to half a day );
    Dc proper vs the burbs etc etc
    I work out of a semi-professional kitchen an hr from Dupont circle
    That kitchen can be for a large group next to a self sustaining organic farm with grass fed beef etc and very near a large fruit orchard.
    The mise en place, other prep work can be done if time is limited hard if folks wanna be at dc metro proper.

    I totally second this idea! However, I know my own kitchen is way too small for groups. Are we thinking active group cooking here, or more like themed potlucks with pre-assigned items + discussion?
