The Denver Area Access Users Group presents a second Dawson Butte Software and DataOne, Inc. production.

The future of Microsoft Access includes cloud computing!!! Following on from our June, 2015 seminar, join us on this second 1/2 day hands-on workshop on Friday, January 15th, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Bring your laptop and take the next step in cloud computing with Microsoft Access.

This session will concentrate specifically on getting your own Access database into the cloud and managing it, and working with a desktop client.

Agenda:

• Upsizing an Access database to SQL using SSMA (SQL Server Migration Assistant)
• Linking your Access front-end to the SQL Server database
• Working with the database in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
• Deploying the SQL database to Azure SQLDB
• Working with the database in SQLDB
• Q&A

Prerequisites:

• Bring your own laptop.

• You should have your own active Microsoft Azure account before attending this workshop; we will not cover Azure account creation or management.

• SQL Server with SSMA and SSMS installed on your computer. We recommend SQL Server Developer's Edition ($60).

• Have an Access database you wish to upsize and work with in SQL Server. (We will provide a sample database, if you don't have your own)

This is a free workshop courtesy of DAAUG, DataOne Inc., and Dawson Butte Software. We only ask that you RSVP here at Meetup.com. Seating is limited, so sign up early.

There will be a mid-afternoon break with refreshments provided.
