Access Fridays III - Web Database Development

Details

Access Fridays III

In an increasingly diverse technological world, Microsoft Access developers benefit from knowing how to develop databases for Web consumption. It may be time to add internet data apps to your arsenal of professional skills! In this Access Friday, we will introduce you to all the basics of web development, hands-on, from basic HTML to CSS styling to database access. At the end of the session, you’ll understand the fundamentals of how data-driven web sites are built, and have a strong foundation for building your own. We’ll together write a basic HTML page, dress it up with some CSS styles, and talk to a database.

The seminar will be led by a former Microsoft Senior Web Developer and author of a number of technical articles on web development.

Seminar Prerequisites:

This is a hands-on seminar!

  1. A laptop (running Windows for the web hosting part)

  2. Microsoft Access (or the Runtime) for the web database part

  3. Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition (or another version, if you already have that installed).

If you have questions, please post a comment below, and the organizers will reply there.

Scheduling Note:

For those of you who responded to our poll (thank you!), our preferred date was initially Friday, June 24th. It came to our attention that Microsoft Dev Day is being held at the Microsoft offices that date. So, your Access Friday III will be on July 15th. We hope to see many of you at both events!
