Woody why do you feel the need to justify your success ..believe me I'm very successful (if u had any idea) but I didn't step on anyone to get it.
...you've basically admitted you'll screw others to get ahead READ MY THREAD. I'm not against success or wealth.

I have both AND I sleep with a clear conscious

Sir,

any generalization is wrong.  I do not know if mostly is a proper term but some is OK but even though why is wrong to defend own success? Do you see if in capitalism such life is a norm and human history is like that or worse? Not long ago they will accuse you for anything if you "on the way" of powerful man and kill you.  Today you need to fight better or accept new situation and "love" your boss.

Don,

the Ken's sentence: ..."D.C. Is a city full of programmed self involved self concerned bigots that will do anything or sell themselves out to no end to protect their material wealth and so called "social or professional standing".

is a Nonsense because it is a very subjective opinion and not verifiable. If so, all humans are such bigots who are living on the planet Earth, otherwise they are homeless or dying. If you do not "protect your material wealth” you are stupid and you are going to extinct.

It looks like a communist idea about selfishness of humans.

I find Ken's experiences to be profoundly disturbing.  I had assumed that DC is very much safe for secular people.  We don't have people in public office saying that they are secular.  However, one poll had DC as number 7 on the list of most secular states, if DC were a state.  I recall no people asking me what church I went to.  This is a typical experience in the Bible belt.

Have other people run into this explicit discrimination problem in our area?

Let me amend that last statement I made

..."D.C. Is a city full of programmed self involved self concerned bigots that will do anything or sell themselves out to no end to protect their material wealth and so called "social or professional standing".

...it's nice that Klim in the article you attached the link to was able to overcome what he did. The people in context to Klim were open enough to eventually accept him and I've lived in other parts of the country where this was the case. ...I'm just saying DC isn't one of those places.

For the most part i'ld agree with you Matthew ..but it's something easier said than done ....I've lost jobs and been ostracized in DC over political/theological/philosophical bigotry. D.C. is a city of followers ..not "free thinkers"
