Here is a chance for you to learn about another method to develop Android applications (and make them compatible across platforms) from an expert from Adobe. You will also have the chance to win a copy of Flash Builder 4.5 ($699.00 value application used to rapidly develop rich, high-performing mobile, web, and desktop applications). Adobe's Technical Evangelist Andrew Trice will walk through the processes of building Android & cross-platform applications using both Adobe AIR and PhoneGap (a cross-platform mobile application development framework). This session will cover demo applications, as well as real-world coding and best practices.

You may have heard that Adobe will acquire PhoneGap. Here is what Andre Charland, CEO of Nitobi (the creators of PhoneGap) said about the acquisition: “Adobe has always been a big supporter of the open source community and at the forefront of enabling rich, web based applications across screens. We share the same philosophy about enabling extraordinary mobile and web applications. Becoming part of the Adobe family with its industry-leading tools and technologies opens up amazing new opportunities for PhoneGap and our customers.”

Come learn Android development through these exciting cross platform development tools to see if this is a good fit for you. Network and have fun with other Android enthusiast.

Fathom Creative, Inc is sponsoring the location for this meetup. Here is information about parking around Fathom: Parking meters and time limits stop at 6:30, there are a few spots that stop at 5. There are two parking garages right on Thomas Circle, one in the Donavan Hotel and the other is right next to the CVS, both entrances are on 14th Street. Both garages are about two and a half blocks from the office – about a 5 minute walk. There is also a whole foods on P street, a little closer (perhaps a good place to park if you need to some shopping prior or after the meetup). Fathom Creative is right on 14th Street and is a grey and white building with large glass windows in the front. Press the buzzer next to the door on right hand side, as that goes upstairs to the gallery where the meetup is held.

NOTE: There are TWO large glass doors to Fathom, one on the left going into the studio and one on the right, which goes straight up a wooden stair case. Please use the door on the right, going straight upstairs to the gallery.

Adobe is sponsoring Pizza and drinks for the event.
