You're invited to the kick-off MyShingle Commingle - between solo, small and alternative law firms and legal tech companies. Sponsored by MyShingle.com, the longest running blog on solo/small firm practice (launched in December 2002) and hosted at the office of Logikcull (cloud-based ediscovery) in Washington DC, we'll spend the at least the first part of the event getting to know each other, networking and sharing and exchanging ideas on law practice.

For our kick off topic, the theme will be Remote, inspired by the recent release of Jason Fried's book Remote: Office Not Required (http://www.amazon.com/Remote-Office-Required-Jason-Fried/dp/0804137501/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383668917&sr=8-1&keywords=remote) and I'll be giving away two copies free as door prizes. But we'll also have our own talk about Remote for Lawyers - by Reid Trautz (reidmyblog.com), former chair of the ABA Legal Tech Show who's been advising lawyers on law practice management and legal technology for decades and speaking on these issues for just as long. He'll talk about Tools and Rules for Remote Practice and Collaboration for Lawyers - and answer questions. This is a great topic for solo & small and alternative practices as well as legal tech companies which are developing many of the platforms that lawyers use that facilitate remote collaboration.

So please join us for FREE FOOD and door prizes (2 copies of the book, Remote, a copy of my ebook The Art, Science & Ethics of the 21st Century Retainer Agreement (which includes guidance on how to incorporate "remote" into your representation agreement and a copy of Solo by Choice: How to Be the Lawyer You Always Wanted To Be!!! Bring plenty of business cards because we'll be doing introductions & b-card exchange. If you have any additional questions, email me at elefant@myshingle.com Please RSVP as soon as you can!
