Finding, Working With and Pricing Legal Services for Small Biz and StartUp Clients: The Inside Track WITH PRIORI LEGAL STARTUP FOUNDERS!!

You’ve probably read at least one or two of the hundreds of how-to books, websites and articles for lawyers on attracting clients, managing clients and pricing legal services. The problem? They’re all written by lawyers with actual experience working with clients or consultants or marketers who advice lawyers on how to find clients. Few resources are from the perspective that matters most: that of the client.

This month’s MyShingle Commingle MeetUp will change all of that. Our speakers, Basha Frost Rubin and Mirra Levitt are lawyers themselves and founders of the internet start-up Priori Legal, an online matchmaking platform that helps small and mid-sized businesses access vetted, hand-selected lawyers at fixed and discounted fees. From their perspective as company founders and customers of legal services, Basha and Mirra will provide the inside track on everything lawyers wanted to know about finding and working with small business and start-up clients.

Topics include:

-Types of legal concerns common to small businesses and start-ups;
-An overview of traditional and online marketing strategies for attracting small business and start-up clients, including what works and what doesn’t;
-What business and start-up clients expect from their relationship with their lawyers and
-Business clients’ views on the billable hour and fixed pricing and developing pricing structures that are a win-win for lawyers and clients.

Basha and Mirra will illustrate each of these topics with personal examples, including the best and the worst of what they encountered from the perspective of a client. NOTE: even if you don’t serve small businesses or start-ups, these lessons are applicable to all lawyers and clients.

The meet-up starts at 7 pm and is FREE. The first forty-five minutes, we’ll have snacks and networking (still deciding between purely informal or facilitated networking, but it will definitely be some type of networking) followed by our speakers and time for questions. Based on the feedback from last month’s event, we’ll be more organized with building access. In addition, I will also try to set up a meet-up group to facilitate offline connection between members.

To RSVP, either do so directly at the MeetUp site here or contact me directly at elefant@myshingle.com.
