The DC Health 2.0 chapter is putting out a call to identify Health 2.0 leaders interested in speaking at the August Health 2.0 STAT event.
The next Health STAT event, created by Aquilent, is scheduled for Thursday, August 25, 2011. The event will be held at the Barking Dog in Bethesda, MD, which has plenty of parking nearby and is Metro accessible. Please visit our meetup page for the address information.
Like always, Health STAT will feature a rapid-fire series of presentations from local Health 2.0 experts, followed by a panel style Q&A session. This event will emphasize the presentation of case studies and real world examples that highlight innovative use and results associated with implementing Web 2.0 tools in the health domain.
We are looking to identify 5 speakers for this event. Each speaker will be given no more than 5 minutes to complete a presentation that highlights their experiences and lessons learned from implementing innovative Health 2.0 technologies and solutions. Speakers will participate in a Q&A session upon completion of all of the presentations.

How can I become a speaker for Health 2.0 STAT? If you are interested in speaking at Health 2.0 STAT, please submit a brief description (250 words or less) of your topic and a brief speaker bio (1 paragraph) to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, July 29th. Additional presentation materials will be accepted, but are not necessary.
What is the DC Health 2.0 Chapter? The DC Health 2.0 Chapter is a local (MD/DC/VA) group of health technology and communications professionals that meet semi-monthly to share experiences about the innovative use and lessons learned associated with implementing Web 2.0 tools in the health domain. In late 2009, the DC Health 2.0 group became the DC chapter of the Health 2.0 (health2con.com ) and allows us to participate in the larger national discussion on Health 2.0. What is Health 2.0 STAT? Health 2.0 STAT includes a rapid fire presentation format with 5 speakers, followed by a panel style Q&A session. Each presenter is given no more than 5 minutes to present a case study/presentation highlighting the innovative use of Web 2.0 tools and/or strategy within their health-related organization.
Am I eligible to speak at this event? Any person can speak at this event! We want to encourage a broad range of Health 2.0 specific topics (from Social Media to Cloud Computing) with speakers from varying backgrounds (Medical Professionals, Federal Government, Non-Profits, etc) that support local, national and/or international initiatives. The only prerequisite is that your presentation be about the use of Web 2.0 tools and approaches within the Health domain and that you keep your presentation to no more than 5 minutes.
How will potential speakers be selected? Speakers will be primarily selected based on whether the topic is interesting, creative, and points will be given for real world case studies and applicability with proven results. We will also make an attempt to select a wide range of topics so that there isn't too much overlap in terms of content. Feel free to submit multiple proposals but keep in mind that we reserve the right to select the one you will present. Please note that this event is not about self-promotion. We are interested in talks that are driven by passion, not by sales.
