Open Source Data Visualization for Big Data + Q&A + Raffle

Join us for Open Source Data Visualization for Big Data, DC Metro BIRT Developers’ first Meetup on Tue Dec 10th, 2013 between 6-9pm. We will explore the big data landscape as it relates to data visualizations and analytics and have discussions exploring techniques for accessing various Big Data repositories using BIRT, an open source technology.

This event is free, and is open to anyone interested in Open Source Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Data visualizations, and related topics.

We will have two presentations:
• Using BIRT to Create Data Driven Web Apps - BIRT is a powerful framework for adding data visualization and reporting capability to your application. However, creating BIRT designs is only part of the story. To create a seamless application experience, you must integrate BIRT into your application. This presentation will walk you through the BIRT architecture and demonstrate several different ways to integrate BIRT into your application from running reports with the APIs to integrating BIRT into Web Applications.
Speaker: Virgil Dodson - Director, BIRT Evangelists
• Big Data and Business Intelligence - This session will explore the big data landscape as it relates to Business Intelligence (BI). We will share some notes from the trenches, and a few options related to BI with Big Data. We'll cover how BIRT can access various Big Data repositories using currently available tools and technologies.
Speaker: Prasun Sinha - Director, Client Services with Impetus Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Big Data solutions to large enterprises.
