New Tech for Raising Capital & Investing

  • Jan 8, 2014 · 6:30 PM

We're set for another great event with speakers including Paul Singh, Partner at 500 Startups and Founder and CEO of Indicate; Ben Miller, CEO of real estate investment platform; and Sara Hanks, securities law expert and CEO of Refreshments will be served. Our panel will offer diverse perspectives--investor, entrepreneur, regulator--on the implications of crowdfunding, the JOBS Act, and platforms from AngelList to KickStarter. Should be a great evening for entrepreneurs, investors and others active in tech and financial services.

I like Paul's tips on funding. I am curious that the disparity between Silicon Valley and DC is related to funding or culture. It was a great panel discussion overall.

Excellent space, excellent talk. Sara gave a fantastic summary of the state of play the way only a lawyer actually doing the deals can. Paul is just a fountain of industry experience on terms, practices, risk, and numbers. And Ben is the quintessential DC startup success and what I think is the typical successful response to all this new tech: he's doing something really great and doing it the hard way by following all the rules and regs. I know Paul said not to tweet him on anything, but I LOVE that he's giving yet another group business advice here at the Crystal City Starbucks (probably for the umpteenth time since yesterday). What a stand-up guy.

Very informative, loved the panel! I also enjoyed talking with participants that are working on startups. Great advice and looking forward to February's event and the discussion on bitcoin!

Investors and fundraisers work with us because we lower the risks and increase the participation for investors by guaranteeing they can't lose their principal.
Looking forward to answering how we do that and why it matters to you.
