Announcing a new Meetup for DC Mountain Madness!

What: Ski Mountaineering on Mt Washington: Ski Tuckermans/Huntington/Whatever's IN!

When: Friday, March 19,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $150.00 per person

White Mountains Ice Climbing Areas
2779 White Mountain Highway
North Conway, NH 03860

Proud to announce a quick backcountry skiing/ski mountaineering weekend (March 20-21) on Mt Washington!
Mark Synott himself (yes, Mark the Legend) is taking on the mission of guiding us around the best backcountry skiing that Mt Washington and environs have to offer. We'll throw in some cool mountaineering training, and call it a ski mountaineering course.

This will be two days, Sat and Sun, so we'll probably fly in on Friday and fly back early Mon morning.

Advanced/expert skiers only. You have either skied with me before, OR you've done serious backcountry skiing elsewhere. Here's Mark's video of skiing Hungtington Ravine (Yale Gully) last year.
Only sign up for this trip if you crave skiing this kind of terrain!

The two-day ski mountaineering course will be somewhere around $220 per person (we are still working out the details).
Lodging: we are planning to rent a house similar to the one we did for NYE (maybe even the very same place, if we fill all the spots). So count on $100-$130 per person total for all three nights.
Transportation: fly or drive... but after a very, very loooooong trip on NYE, I think we are pretty much convinced flying up is the preferred option. However, it's up to you.

At this time, I am collecting a $150 deposit to hold your spot. This will go toward logding reservations and food kitty. We will work out the guide cost at a later date.

So who is IN?
