MLK Service Day

Join DCYP Kiwanis for the “Project Inside/Outside” National Day of Service Event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We will work alongside members of the Kiwanis family and the community to revitalize and strengthen the Capitol Hill Montessori School at Logan and its surrounding neighborhood.

The project is designed to enhance and preserve the uniquely structured creative learning environment at the school “Inside,” and to serve the needs of the homeless and poverty stricken through a blanket drive “Outside.” Possible roles for volunteers will include painting, completing odd jobs, dusting, gardening, and other improvement projects at this innovative school. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a blanket to donate to the blanket drive.

This project, hosted by Eastern High School Key Club, is one of the thousands of service projects that will take place around the country over MLK weekend. “Project Inside/Outside” has been designated as a National Day of Service Partner of the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee and a member of the President’s cabinet plans to be in attendance.
