The Standing Stone Trail (formerly known as the Link Trail) is a 79 mile trail in southern PA, which connects the Midstate and Tuscarora Trails. It is a lot of ridge walking, but does have some chunks of roadwalks in the middle. Water and campsites can be hard to come by, but the scenery is supposed to be fantastic, and we may not see another hiker.
The plan would be to meet after work Thursday night, do the car shuttle, and hike in 2 or 10 miles, depending on what we feel like. This will leave us with ~23-27 miles per day for the next 3 days.
I'm posting this trip as invite only since it will be high mileage on difficult terrain. I will screen veteran members unless we've done several hardcore trips together.
I'll add more details when the trip gets closer.
Here is the trail's website for more info:
Here is a friend's journal of the hike:
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
