Getting the Word Out: How to Publicize Your Books

Regardless of your path to publishing (self-published, small press, big six) getting the book on the shelf is only step one. Don't be the tree that falls in the forest that no one hears. A great book can only catch on if it has enough marketing behind it to spark the flame which word-of-mouth can grow into a fire.

In this lecture we'll cover the basics including

- The 5 tools every author needs to have.

- How to use social networking - especially if you are shy or don't like talking about yourself

- How to leverage industry influencers

- What NOT to waste your time on

- Where to get the biggest bang for your buck

- Proven techniques I've used for Michael and other Ridan Authors

- Plenty of Q&A time

Hope to see you all there!

Robin.

This presentation was very encouraging. I especially liked hearing the very specific methods for publicizing books.

Once again, I received valuable information and advice from Robin Sullivan. It was perfectly timed for me, since I've just published a novel and need to focus heavily now on promotion and marketing. While I've been studying a lot on this topic, Robin never ceases to surprise me with fresh insights and information. Brava!

Robin's experience could certainly form the basis of a great seminar series or book and I feel so fortunate to live close by and to benefit from her seminars first hand. Also, its inspirational to think that there is so much that authors can do themselves these days to influence their success. My goal now is to get my book published an up making some sales on Amazon so that I can pitch Ridan ;-). Thanks Robin!

High value meetup, exceptional level of information, an amazing resource. Ms. Sullivan has deep subject matter expertise, and is an engaging presenter, I sincerely appreciate that she and her husband have made themselves available through this venue.

I tend to rotate and repeat sessions. So yes it will be repeated at sometime. The library only lets me do 4 sessions a year so if I find another location then perhaps an August session will be possible.

I have a conflict this day but I hope to make it to part of the meetup. Will there be another one in August? (or sooner?)
