"Fair trade is not about charity. It's a holistic approach to trade and development that aims to alter the ways in which commerce is conducted, so that trade can empower the poorest of the poor." (Fair Trade Federation)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEWCOMERS:

:::SPECIAL NOTE::: THIS MEETUP OFTEN SERVES AS A MESSAGE BOARD FOR EVENTS ORGANIZED BY OUR PARTNERS. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE EVENT WITH THE INDIVIDUAL COMPANY/PERSON ORGANIZING

You MUST complete your individual "DC Fair Trade Network" group profile for membership approval. It's important that you use your profile to fully explain who you are, what your business is and how you support, or would like to support, fair trade in DC so others can contact you accordingly.

***NOTE: Do not set your profile so you cannot receive emails from the group because you will have no notice for meetings and no other member could contact you to network (which is the purpose of this group).

If you are in any way unclear about how to manage your profile settings, you are welcome to send Elizabeth your login/password and she will set things up for you.

If you are new to Meetup all together and would prefer that Elizabeth set up your profile for you, please email her at: MakeTradeFairMeetup@email.com.
