The ASA is hosting ASA President-Elect Michèle Lamont (http://scholar.harvard.edu/lamont/home)'s address to the DCSS. There will be a reception at 6:30pm, and the talk begins at 7pm. The event is free and open to the public. ASA Headquarters is located right near McPherson Square and Farragut Metro stations. The event is always very exciting with high-level presentations and great discussion. It's also a great way for graduate students to meet Professor Lamont and to network with her and other great sociologists.

Professor Lamont will discuss her forthcoming book, "Getting Respect: Dealing with Stigma and Discrimination in the United States, Brazil, and Israel."

Michèle Lamont (http://scholar.harvard.edu/lamont/home) is a Professor of Sociology and of African and African American Studies and the Robert I.
