For this run, we'll be joining Back On My Feet DC!
Launched in DC in March, Back On My Feet is a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of homeless populations by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. Come join us for a run - and advance two great causes at once!
Where? Meet in front of Union Station, at the pickup/dropoff area
How Far? How Fast? We'll pick a promising route in the area, run out about half an hour, scout out the trash, then walk back and pick it up! Please plan on an hour and half overall.
The distance will be determined by how fast you wish to run or walk - this is NOT a race, so go at a pace that is comfortable for you.
What Should I Bring? Please bring water - it's a hot summer! Plus whatever else you would bring to a regular run. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. If you have a shirt from Atayne (made from trash), wear it.
We'd love to make the Trash Runners great for you! Please take our quick, easy, 8-question survey if you haven't yet.
Want to become a leader and help organize trash runs? ]Please let us know!
