What else would you like to tell our group about yourself?

Graduated Georgetown University (1969), majoring in History and Government, and Georgetown Law (1972). Member, DC Bar. Management consultant, working in the areas of criminal justice reform, substance abuse prevention, and community development.

How did you learn about PIAZZA ITALIA - The Washington, DC Italian Language & Culture MeetUp group?

From my good friend, Lisa Rossini Johnson, an Italian-speaking artist and art history grad resident here in DC.

What is your favorite Italian book/author, Italian film, Italian song/musician, Italian food, Italian city?

I am a longtime student of medieval Italian history, art and politics, as well as Italian genealogy and heraldry. Pretty widely read in these subject areas. (Currrently reading Bratchel's History of Medieval Lucca.)

How long have you been interested in the Italian Language and why; at what level do you speak Italian; are there any other languages you speak or have an interest in?

I have never formally studied Italian--though I plan to do so soon. I studied Latin and French in my Jesuit high school and college; from this background I became a passable "self-taught" reader of written Italian.

Introduction

I am a third generation Italian-American, resident in DC since 1965, who is deeply interested in the history and culture of Italia.
