The Top 10 Christian Libertarian Blogs
Greg Heller - The Holy Cause - Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Everyone does it sooner or later, now is my turn for a Top 10 list. Following is my list of the 10 most useful or interesting blogs, from a Christian libertarian perspective.

1. Lew Rockwell - Oops, bad start, LRC is not a "Christian" site. OK, I will stretch on this one, as it is such a rich source that it stands alone. Even so, there is much material here which reflects a Christian viewpoint. (For example, see here, here, and here.)

2. Libertarian Christians - Norman is doing a great job here. Scholarly and original. (He has a Top 10 list as well ...)

3. Father Hollywood - Rev. Beane's site has much to say for it. Decidedly Christian, an interesting mix of New Orleans culture, Lutheran Theology, and libertarian thinking.

4. Civics News - Scott Ritsema's postings are strongly libertarian. Read his "Philosophy" in his right sidebar.

5. Covenant News - Really an aggregator rather than a blog, but I'll stretch here. Definitely a Christian and pro-freedom bent.

6. Pro Libertate - With a strong emphasis on abuses of state power, Mr. Grigg is a hard-hitting commentator. Some may be offended by his sometimes caustic way of expressing himself.

7. Vox Popoli - Has a significant and active following. Sometimes a little coarse, always controversial, Vox also writes a weekly column at World Net Daily.

8. The Humble Libertarian - Thought provoking, more libertarian than Christian in the subject matter, but their faith is communicated in posts like these.

9. Christian and State – Nellis has a clear understanding of the danger of the State, and how it stands against the Kingdom of God. Highly recommended.

10. The Holy Cause - As recommended by Norman and Father Hollywood!

These are great! Hopefully we can troll these websites for good topics to bring to the table each meeting!

Thanks Leah- I am developing plans for a Christian outreach at Celebrate Freedom to promote Christian Libertarian themes..

I joined the Christian Libertarian yahoo group mentioned at the libertarian Christian site yesterday and am gathering ideas for sandwich style or other dual sided posters (my favorite is a dollar store stiff backed board colored with bold 2 color font print and a message on each side). Holding the sign up..all you need to do is turn around and they see the saying on the backside of the board.

The date is June 27 at Southfork Ranch. Please consider saving the date and joining me.. Details upcoming and input and participation from this group would be especially good since this would be the natural portal for local Christian libertarian folks (or curiously Christians) to check out the concepts and connect.

One sign idea is:

Side one will say: Be Free in Christ
Other side will say: Christian Libertarians
